WNO assembled a very respectable cast, led by Francesco Meli who is only 32 years old and has a liquid, lyric, supple voice that he used effortlessly, and with a real sense of French style and flair. It seemed that he was very enjoy playing Werther. When he sang Pourqoi me reveiller ,I was crying, I love this aria. The mezzo-soprano Sonia Ganassi, with very bad costumes, didn’t quite resemble an object of Werther's affections as Charlotte. we truly enjoy every minuses of the performance.
